Resumen
Este trabajo de investigación tuvo como objetivo evaluar la relación entre la producción de metano por biodigestión de residuos sólidos orgánicos, su potencial energético y la eficiencia para generar energía eléctrica en la ciudad de puno. Los objetivos específicos incluyeron la caracterización de los residuos orgánicos y la evaluación del potencial energético del metano. El enfoque principal fue la biodigestión anaeróbica, un proceso que descompone materia orgánica en condiciones de ausencia de oxígeno, generando metano como subproducto. Se centro en residuos de alimentos, cascaras y restos de frutas y verduras, como principales componentes de la biomasa, recolectados en los mercados de la ciudad. Se empleo un enfoque de investigación cuantitativa descriptiva para recopilar datos específicos sobre la producción de metano, potencial energético y eficiencia en la generación de energía eléctrica. En cuanto a los resultados, el rendimiento del proceso de biodigestión es 41,5709, que permite producir un volumen de 734,6382 metros cúbicos de metano. El potencial energético calculado del metano producido es de 5142,6802 Kwh. (18513,65 Mega julios), subrayando la viabilidad de aprovechar residuos orgánicos para la generación de energía. La potencia eléctrica estimada es de303,7, que confirma la eficiencia del proceso, especialmente considerando la composición especifica de la biomasa. Este estudio proporciona perspectivas valiosas para el desarrollo de estrategias sostenibles de gestión de residuos y generación de energía en la ciudad de Puno, resaltando la biodigestión anaeróbica como una solución prometedora y ambientalmente beneficiosa.
