RESEARCH SECTION

This is a space dedicated to disseminating original and unpublished research results in the field of architecture and urbanism. The articles presented in this section should be written in clear and accessible language for both specialized audiences and those interested in the topic without specific technical knowledge. To ensure the quality and academic rigor of the published articles, the following selection criteria will be established: works must be original and unpublished, aligned with the research lines established by the journal, have rigorous methodology and analysis, and be well-structured and written. Additionally, all articles will be evaluated by experts in the field of architecture and urbanism through the peer-review process. Authors of articles submitted in this section are also expected to adhere to ethical principles and standards of scientific integrity in the execution and presentation of their work. Any indication of plagiarism, data manipulation, or scientific misconduct is investigated and addressed according to protocols established by the journal. Finally, the scientific research section is a platform for promoting the exchange of ideas and knowledge in the field of architecture and urbanism. Therefore, authors are encouraged to submit innovative works that contribute to the development of the discipline. Within this section, the following types of submissions are accepted:

  1. Original Article: A scientific research paper presenting novel and original results, based on the collection and analysis of empirical data or the development of new theories or models. This type of article is characterized by a clear and rigorous presentation of objectives, methodology, results, and conclusions derived from the research. Original articles are a fundamental form of scientific communication and undergo rigorous peer-review processes before acceptance for publication in scientific journals. DOWNLOAD TEMPLATE HERE.
  2. Review Article: An academic publication type that summarizes and critically evaluates previous research on a specific topic. Unlike an original research article, which presents new empirical discoveries, a review article focuses on synthesizing and analyzing existing literature on a particular topic. This type of article can be very useful for researchers who want to stay up-to-date with the latest advances in their field, as it provides an overview of the results of multiple studies and a critical evaluation of their methodological quality. Review articles can also help identify gaps in existing research and establish an agenda for future research in the area. DOWNLOAD TEMPLATE HERE.
  3. Short Communication: An academic publication type presenting preliminary results or studies of smaller scope and depth than original research articles. Unlike research articles, which can span several pages, short communications are usually limited to a few pages. They are often used to report initial or exploratory findings or to present partial results of an ongoing research project. Short communications are useful for researchers who want to share their results with the scientific community quickly and effectively, as they can be published in open-access scientific journals and reach a wide audience in a short time. ACADEMIC SECTION

The section is specially designed to encourage student participation in the production of scientific essays and dossiers. We accept original contributions presenting research results, theoretical and methodological analyses, as well as critical reflections on architectural and urban practice. Essays can be written by undergraduate or graduate students in any discipline related to architecture and urbanism. Dossiers can be written by a group of students addressing a particular theme collectively. All essays and dossiers must meet the same criteria for quality, originality, and academic rigor required of other journal articles. All scientific essays and dossiers will undergo a peer-review process, and only those considered suitable by our editorial team and external reviewers will be accepted for publication. In conclusion, our academic section is an excellent opportunity for students of architecture and related disciplines to initiate themselves in research and academic writing. As a prestigious scientific journal, we are proud to offer students the opportunity to publish their contributions and share their perspectives and knowledge with the academic and professional community. Within this section, the following types of submissions are accepted:

  1. Scientific Essay: An academic publication type aiming to present a critical and argumentative perspective on a specific topic related to science or research. Unlike original research articles, which are based on the collection and analysis of empirical data, scientific essays focus on critical reflection and interpretation of existing scientific literature on a particular topic. Generally, scientific essays are structured around a main thesis or argument, supported by a critical review of existing scientific literature to substantiate their claims. DOWNLOAD TEMPLATE HERE.
  2. Dossier: A special section of a publication focusing on a specific topic of interest in a particular field of study. A dossier may include a series of original research articles, literature reviews, scientific essays, interviews, or any other type of contribution related to the main theme of the dossier. The goal of a dossier is to present a panoramic and integrated view of a specific research topic, resulting in a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the subject matter.
